British Cycling Breeze Rides
Breeze Bike Rides
In September 2013 I gained my level 1 Ride Leader qualification with British Cycling which enabled me to be a Breeze Champion and work as a volunteer to lead ladies only rides in the Settle area of the Yorkshire Dales. So far the rides have ranged from 10-50 miles and have attracted both beginner and experienced riders.
I am now one of several local Breeze Champions and we regularly add new rides to the website; the rides are free and great fun. Search the website for ‘Settle’ or your preferred location. There are regular rides on various days in spring and summer of varying distances and speed so just pick one that suits you.
The Breeze Network from British Cycling is all about fun, local bike rides for women, by women. There is a whole range of support, advice, training and ride opportunities too. The network’s informal and relaxed and FREE.
Getting involved is easy. You can use the Ride Finder to look for a Breeze Ride in your area and more are being added all the time.
Breeze is part of British Cycling’s commitment to getting more women riding bikes for fun, and the network has been made possible by investment from the Active Women Campaign funded through the National Lottery and Sport England.
We also have a Facebook page for Settle and Ingleton areas.
If you are only just starting to get back onto your bike, and are slightly lacking in confidence, the British Cycling’s Breeze programme might be just for you.
